Are you feelin' lucky?

It's a line from a Clint Eastwood's movie, "Dirty Harry".

Personally, I don't believe in luck. I use to believe in it, but I have found that all my joys come from the Lord. They are blessings that He bestows upon me on a daily basis.

I used to take so much for granted: the parking space close to the store, for example. I have increasing problems with walking even short distances. I used to wish for a close parking space, but rarely ever got it. Since I have put my faith in the Lord, however, I have noticed that I'm being "taken care of"! And if I ask for help, through prayer, to get me through grueling problems as well as small annoyances, Help arrives. Now, as I swing the car into the parking lot of my favorite grocery store, I pray, "Lord, my hip really hurts today. Please have a space for me as close as possible today." All the spaces are taken, but I keep heading for those. As I make the final turn, one of the spaces opens up. True, it doesn't happen every time, but even if it doesn't, I find that I am able to cope with what He does present to me.

This is only ONE of many many examples of how God blesses me in my daily living.
He is alive and well and working in, for, and through me, His servant.

Am I feeling lucky? No, I'm feeling blessed! Are you??

Beginnings

I remember as a child sitting on the stairs inside our house, pen and note pad in hand. I was 6 years old and anxious to go to school the next year and learn how to write words. Now I could only write scribbles and pretend they were words. Suddenly I felt a presence and I felt God nearby. I "heard" Him say that He had plans for me as a writer.

That was the beginning for me. I did go on to write many short stories and vignettes about life growing up in a small town. A few years ago I felt God nudging me to write about how He comes into my life--on a daily basis--and gives me a reason, a REAL reason, to live life to the fullest--for HIM!!! My life has been completely changed for the better--in every way!

I hope those who read these stories will come to want Christ in their lives too. There is only one way to get eternal life in Heaven with Christ. Admit that you sin. Ask God's forgiveness, and believe, by sheer faith alone, that Christ died for your sins (was punished for your sins). The Holy Spirit will come to you and your life will never be the same. You will wonder how you ever lived without Him in your life.
